As the crisp air rolls in and the leaves turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold, fall offers us a perfect opportunity to slow down and take care of ourselves. The busyness of summer fades away, making room for cozy mornings and soothing self-care rituals. Here are a few of my favorite things about fallāand why theyāre perfect for recharging your mind, body, and soul.
If you haven’t already checked out last week’s post, “Lupus and Fall weather”, make sure to give it a read. I wanted to continue the fall theme this week with a fun post about all the things I’m loving this fall season: pumpkin spice, cozy pajamas, curling up with a good book, and thoroughly enjoying the calm before the holiday storm. Let’s go ahead and jump into all my cozy fall favorites.
Pumpkin Spice Everything
Fall wouldnāt be complete without pumpkin spice! From sipping on pumpkin spice lattes to enjoying warm pumpkin muffins, thereās something incredibly comforting about these flavors. I never miss the opportunity to enjoy the month of pumpkin spice, and all the treats and tricks it brings. Taking a moment to savor seasonal treats is a great way to practice mindfulness. Itās a simple pleasure that brings joy, reminding us to pause and enjoy the present. While there’s the OG pumpkin spice latte these days almost everything comes in pumpkin spice during fall: a gift and a curse. Let me know in the comments the best and worst pumpkin-spiced treats you’ve tried.
Early Morning Walks
Thereās something magical about fall mornings. The crisp, cool air and the stillness before the day begins invite you to step outside and breathe deeply. Early morning walks are a perfect form of gentle exercise and a wonderful time for reflection. Whether you stroll through a park, wander down quiet streets, or find a peaceful trail, these moments allow you to reset and ground yourself for the day ahead. I like to walk after finishing my workout and breakfast. A brisk walk is not only a great cool down after exercising but also provides benefits for digesting food. Making an after-workout meal walk the perfect start to my day!
Pumpkin Patches
Visiting a pumpkin patch is a quintessential fall activity, perfect for making memories and creating space for fun. Whether you go with family, and friends, or take a solo trip, pumpkin patches are a great way to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the season. Picking out the perfect pumpkin can be a small but joyful act of self-careātaking time to do something just for fun is essential for our well-being.

Matching Fall PJs
One of the coziest ways to embrace the season is with matching fall pajamas! Whether youāre snuggling up with your family or treating yourself to a quiet evening with a good book, fall-themed pajamas make everything feel more festive. Plus, they remind us that self-care doesnāt have to be extravagantāsometimes, itās the little things, like comfy clothes and a warm blanket, that make us feel our best. And I’ve got you covered I’ve tried out many fall pajamas and found the comfiest ones: with matching pairs for all the little ones!

Fall as a Time for Reflection
Fall naturally lends itself to moments of reflection. As the leaves fall and the year winds down, itās the perfect time to check in with yourself. Are you nourishing your mind and body? Are you allowing yourself to rest and recharge? Incorporating small self-care rituals, like journaling or lighting your favorite candle, can help you create peaceful moments amidst the busy season. We have multiple posts about the importance of self-care and living with an Autoimmune disease. If you haven’t checked them out I will link them below.
Another one of my favorite parts of fall is planning my Halloween costume. This year I spent too much time trying to find my niece the perfect costume (click here if you want to see what costume I ended up getting her!). Let me know in the comments what you’re dressing up as for Halloween this year!
Fall isnāt just a time for pumpkin spice and cozy sweatersāitās a season to reconnect with ourselves. Whether itās through savoring a warm drink, enjoying the beauty of nature, or slowing down to reflect, fall is the perfect time to prioritize your well-being. So, grab those matching PJs, enjoy a pumpkin-spiced treat, and make space for the self-care you deserve this season.
