Turning to the word in your time of need is a way to be in God’s presence. There’s no better place to go when feelings of worry, doubt, and uncertainty weigh heavy on your heart. Anxiety is normal, it’s about how you choose to cope that makes the difference. Prolonged stress negatively affects autoimmune disorders. Click here to read up on “Stress and Autoimmunity”. Having an autoimmune disease tends to cause stress by; causing constant worry for your health, new medications, medical bills, and life responsibilities still needing to be taken care of on top of it all.
Autoimmune diseases are characterized by the body mistaking healthy cells for foreign invaders. In turn causing the body to attack its own healthy cells. When bringing religion into healing autoimmune diseases it raises the question…. Are there spiritual causes of autoimmune disease?
That brings to mind 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
“The weapons we fight with are not weapons of this world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”

We let in certain things and unconsciously allow strongholds over our life when we forget the power we have in Christ. You have to use the authority you have been given in Christ and look where in your life you let in presences that are not from God. Check out “The Bondage Breaker”. This book opened my eyes to the spiritual world, how real spiritual warfare is, and how easy it is create ties that are not from God.
For example lets take Proverbs 12:18. Your words are the difference between life and death. (“ Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” Proverbs 18:21) Using your words wisely should always be on the top of your mind. You need to be watching what you are speaking over your life. Consciously speak life over you and your family’s life. Know what the word says and speak in accordance with it.
I practice speaking healing affirmations over my life. I use bible verses below as well as just reciting uplifting affirmations. Speaking the presence, place, and work God has done and will do in my life.
So your question is “Can God heal me?”. Let’s turn to his word and see for ourselves. Before I read the bible I always pray for discernment and for my eyes to be opened. Lets get right into my favorite scripture for healing!
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for us” 1Peter 5:7
There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword but the tongue of the wise is health” Proverbs 12:18
“A merry heart doeth good like medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” Proverbs 17:22
“A wicked messenger falleth into mischief but a faithful ambassador is health” Proverbs 13:17
“Pleasant words are like honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones” Proverbs 16:24
“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessings will be on your food and water. I will take the sickness from among you.” Exodus 23:25
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,” Declares the Lord” Jeremiah 30:17
God can heal you. You have to have faith, get your life in accordance with God’s word, and be consistent. Seek a relationship with God. For me my eyes were opened to the lifestyle changes that I needed to make. Which led me to functional medicine and gut health. I was able to reverse my autoimmune disease symptoms naturally and I couldn’t have done it without getting close to God and seeking wisdom and discernment.
Everyone’s journey will be different, look to God to find yours. I started by spending time getting in God’s presence; reading his word, worship music, meditating on his word, and trying to live in obedience to His word.
